What’s proposed: The concept masterplan comprises around 500 apartments, new community spaces and an entertainment precinct together with 15,000 – 25,000 m2 of retail and 5,000 m2 commercial spaces.
Our role: As co-owners, UrbanGrowth NSW and the GPT Group have a concept masterplan designed to act as a catalyst for urban renewal and attract the commercial interest and capital investment required to deliver retail, commercial and residential renewal in Newcastle’s East End.
The masterplan will provide a framework that guides future development on the site
Where it’s up to: A staged masterplan has been lodged with Newcastle Council and will be on exhibition until 30 May 2014.
Features: A quality development comprising a 50/50 mix of residential and retail/commercial uses designed to activate the city centre using:
- Best practice urban planning principles to provide an integrated network of retail destinations and public open spaces over 5 levels between Hunter Street and King Street.
