Professor Ken Maher is a leading architect, landscape architect and urban designer with a career spanning more than 40 years.
Ken is a former Executive Chairman of Hassell Ltd, a position he held for nine years, and Professor of Practice in the Faculty of Built Environment at University of NSW. He is also a founding Board member of the Green Building Council, and was recently elected President of the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC).
Ken has been an advisor on design to Federal, State and City governments in Australia and internationally, and has been actively involved in education, research and design teaching throughout his career.
Ken’s professional contributions and commitment to the value of design excellence is extensively recognised and awarded. He was the first recipient of both the Australian Award in Landscape Architecture and the Australian Institute of Architecture's highest accolade, the AIA Gold Medal. Ken holds a Bachelor and Masters of Architecture, and post graduate qualifications in landscape design and environmental studies.
